UNI 11337

The Italian BIM standard series — the national annex to ISO 19650 that fixes Italian BIM terminology and underpins the public-works BIM mandate.

UNI 11337 — "Gestione digitale dei processi informativi delle costruzioni" — is the Italian technical-standard series that defines the requirements, rules, professional competences and terminology for adopting BIM in construction. For the Italian market it is the reference standard.

It is built around ISO 19650, not in competition with it. Parts 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7 act as the Italian national annex to ISO 19650: the international standard supplies the principles, UNI 11337 the technical detail for Italy, with ISO 19650 taking precedence wherever the two diverge. Together they form the standard applied in Italy.

It is also the source of the Italian terminology map — which is much of its value to anyone working across the two languages. It fixes ACDat (Ambiente di Condivisione Dati) for the CDE; Capitolato Informativo (CI) for the EIR; oGI and pGI for the pre- and post-award BEP; and LOD as LOG (geometry) plus LOI (information), with the Italian LOD A–G scale for level of information need; plus the roles Gestore / Coordinatore / Modellatore delle Informazioni (BIM Manager / Coordinator / Modeller). And it is the technical backbone of Italy's public-works BIM mandate: DM 560/2017 (the "Decreto Baratono") phased in mandatory BIM for public works — on a falling threshold of contract value down to all public works from 2025 — a duty confirmed and carried forward by D.Lgs. 36/2023, the new public-contracts code. The series runs from Part 0 (2024, supporting that new code) to Part 7 (professional competences).
